ukraine children

Illya, 14 years old (Olesya's brother, please see following child)
»I am from Makijiwka and came with my mother and my sister to Kyiv via different cities half a year ago.
First we moved to Mariupol, from there to Kachowka and then finally by train to Kyiv.
At the beginning of the war we were on our dacha and when we came back to our house, the bombardments began and my parents decided to leave. I took my e-book, my headphones and my phone and clothes.
I can only remember two aircraft that dropped bombs and I saw two tanks when we were sitting in a pizzeria on my birthday. But from our dacha, I saw complete columns of tanks.
Now, I visit a school in Kyiv, but I have the feeling that I am not fully accepted there, because I don't have as many new and expensive things like the others in the class.
After school I go home, do my homework, watch a little TV and then I spend the time on the computer. When I'm at the computer, I disappear from the real world.
I have no friends in school. During the last summer camp I had a friend and I hope that I will find new friends again. I was happy when I got a new phone for my birthday.
I miss my dog and our old home and a part of my family who has stayed there. I'm in contact with them and they tell me that everything is okay and I could come back, but my mother says no.
For the last two weeks I have been dreaming that we have hot water again in the shower, because it was turned off.
In the future I want to be a human being who works. Thanks.«
