»I've been doing voluntary work for an aid organization, now I've committed myself to an association fighting against the privatization of public water companies. I am under a strong emotional pressure as my prospects are gloomy. I am torn between continuing my voluntary work or finding a proper job to earn a living and to stop worrying about my livelihood.
I would like to stay in Spain to continue fighting against privatization and cuts in the health care and education. In this square here, children used to play cricket etc. but now this has been banned due to private interests of café or restaurant owners.
Consumption is promoted at the expense of public free space. But I cannot just watch my neighbour suffer – how could I not help him or her, I could be next.«
