Once this was one of the most important highways to Donetsk, but hardly a car drives on this road since the war in the Eastern Ukraine and the establishment of the so-called DNR by pro-Russian militias. There are five checkpoints at the front line in the Eastern Ukraine where people can pass.
Every day approximately 5000-7000 people use these border crossings, which is generally associated with several hours of waiting time.
