Marfin Bank greece

On 5th May 2010, the protests in Athens against the austerity measures of the government reached their grim peak.
There are violent clashes in front of the Parliament, several buildings go up in flames, including the Marfin Bank in the Stadiou Street in the centre.
But there are still bank employees inside the building. Three clerks suffocate from the smoke, among them a pregnant employee.
Later it becomes known that the emergency exits were locked and that there was no adequate fire protection system inside the building. The Marfin Bank was never reopened.
Until today no one knows, who set fire to the bank.
