And here the words of five further children, who wanted to talk with me, without being photographed:

»Three months ago I'm came here from Aleppo with my mother, my brother and my two sisters. It was an organized evacuation and I took only my clothes.
Here at school, our subjects are English, mathematics, geography, history, science, religion and art.
During the day I do my homework, meet with friends and talk to them a lot about Syria.
I am happy when I see my friends and my teachers. I am simply afraid of the English exam and I'm dreaming of the exam.
And I dream that one day Syria is liberated. On my birthday I did not do anything, there was no celebration or gifts.
I would like to be a doctor and I wish that there is freedom in Syria and I see my father again.«
— Merve, 15 years old

»I am here with my six sisters, two brothers and my parents for one and a half years now.
I only took my own pictures from Syria.
The war takes far too long.
In the morning I give Koran lessons and in the evening I go to school. My school subjects are math, physics, chemistry, Arabic, English and computer science. I talk with friends about the time in Syria and what is happening there.
I am pleased to read the Koran and to be on Facebook.
I'm afraid of my future.
I wish to return to Syria and to work there as a doctor. I hope that someday we can go back to Syria and that there is freedom.«
— Barika, 16 years old

»For two years now I have been living here with my parents and four siblings.
The future of many people has been destroyed in Syria as well as our education.
Now, we have a Libyan curriculum at school, because the Syrian one is not acceptable. I'm learning all day and talk with friends about Syria and our future.
I'm afraid that the war goes on and my future will be destroyed. I dream of going back, even if the country has been ruined.
I wish nothing for myself but simply for everybody.
We do not want help, but we would like to go back and I want to realize my dreams that I had in the past.«
— Razan, 16 years old

»I fled with my three siblings from Syria eighteen months ago and my father is currently working in Istanbul.
We took our whole family and our clothes.
At school I'm learning Turkish, Arabic, mathematics and English. After school, I do my homework or help my mother at home.
I like the Internet and chat with friends about fashion and clothing.
I would like to successfully finish school and like to work as a journalist in the future.
I hope that the war in Syria ends.«
— Noya, 12 years old

»Two years ago I came here with my two siblings and my parents and I only took my clothes from home.
I go to school and learn Arabic, English, Turkish and politics.
I am feeling happy if I go into the garden, watch TV, help my mother or I meet my friends and we talk about everything or play together.
I fear the sound of tanks.
I dream of going back and that I get a bike because my old bike was destroyed.
In the future I want to be a doctor so I can help other people. Thank you for listening to me.«
— Noor, 11 years old
