Hizna, 10 years old, lives in Sardashti camp in the Sinjar Mountain
»I have four brothers and five sisters. We have been living in the camp on the Sinjar Mountains for five years, before it we lived in the village Til Ezer.<< >>
When Daesh attacked our village, we fled to the mountains on foot. We did not have a car that we could use to drive off.
When the PKK had opened up an escape route from the Sinjar Mountains, we first moved on to Baadri near Dohuk, but then we returned to the Sinjar Mountains.
I'm shaking with fear, when other people talk about Daesh and what happened. I got very scared when I saw the people who escaped from the Daesh captivity. And this fear stayed with me until today.
I receive lessons in Arabic, English, math, history, geography and science. Besides the school I spend my time with my friends. We are walking around in the camp or we play together.
All children here are my friends. I talk about a lot of things with my friends and we also talk about our escape from Daesh.
It makes me really angry when these memories come up, as we were attacked by Daesh. I can not forget what happened to me.
The worst thing is remembering that my mother and grandmother were killed by Daesh.
I'm happy if anyone – no matter who it is – is freed from Daesh captivity and comes back to us.
I'm still afraid today that I have to flee again from Daesh. Even at night in my dreams, the escape occurs frequently.
When we fled from our village, we only took bread.
I only wish that all the people kidnapped by Daesh would reappear. And I wish for myself that a new school will be built here.
In future I would like to work as a doctor.«
