Anna, 15 years old, lives in Mykolaivka

»I met Yellow Bus the first time in 2015 when they came to our school. Thanks to Yellow Bus, I learned how to make films and that this is also possible for children. You don't need a big studio and a lot of equipment, just a smartphone is enough. Then I was looking for a summer camp from Yellow Bus, where I could work with professional equipment and I learned new things.
When the war was in Mykolaivka, I left this place for five months. We drove with the whole family to Taganrog in Russia. And it was good that we came back because I missed my old home so much.
We had only one week of school here before the war started and then school stopped because of the war. We had lessons at that time and we went home earlier, because the war was already taking place here. At first, we drove to a dacha, but there were also shootings and then we decided to leave.
I've also discovered false information about the war and try not to pass on these false messages to others. If it's possible, I tell my friends that these messages are wrong.
Outsiders may be able to understand the war a bit, but they will not completely understand what war implies. You have to experience it yourself to understand what war means.
I still have relatives in the occupied territories to date and we try to discuss our plans and what we are doing right now and we avoid talking about the war.
I'm interested in the news on various topics, but I don't much like political topics, but rather what happens abroad or interesting events in Ukraine.
My interests have changed as a result of the war, as I grew older, and I understood, because of the incidents here, that you can change something by yourself. You don't have to wait for someone else, you have to change yourself in order to change the world.
My first films were all about the war. We wanted to tell and show others what happened and then we did it with the help of our films.
You just don't have to be silent about what happened, but you can also talk about it. Thanks.«
